As Q4 2009 winds to a close many of us out there long await Intels Gulftown CPU. New Leaked CPU-Z shots show this chip reaching up to 6GHz , which is almost a 100% overclock.
Intel’s Hexa-Cored 980X is already proving to be one monster of a chip. Featured six logical cores and rated for 3.07GHZ nominally it may prove to be a top contender in the CPU world when it is released. Although details are still trickling in and are sketchy at best the few glimpses of this Processor do much to stir the imagination in an enthusiasts heart.
From the CPU-Z shot Below we can see that not only has this processor hit 6GHZ but it has done it with an amazing 1.864V. Something that would kill a current generation processor on the market today. It remains to be seen what the retail versions will be capable of, and of course what kind of thermal load a Hexa-Core unit will impose on our Aftermarket solutions. Right now, all we can do is wait and see as more info becomes available.
