To date, nearly all Intel chipset motherboards have featured only 2 SATA 6Gbps ports, the limitation of the add in chip. However, ASRock clearly sees a need to expand this standard and has include two, 2-port controllers allowing for four SATA III 6Gpbs ports along with six standard SATA II connectors.
They have done the same with USB 3.0, coupling two controllers to allow for dual USB 3.0 connections on the rear, and a separate header on the motherboard for front port connections.
To round out the features, the board boasts support for DDR3-2600 DIMMS, dual PCI-E 16x slots SLI and CrossFireX ready, Gigabit Ethernet, 7.1 Channel audio as well as the new onboard Power, Reset and Clear CMOS buttons.
