Two new coolers from Thermalright have been spotted, that redefine the definition of enormous; two giant monster towers, the Silver Arrow and the HR-02.
The Silver Arrow Cooler is a dual fin stack design, that squeezes in two 140mm TY series fans for airflow. Fortunately the dual fans have variable RPMs, from 500 to 1300 while only producing a maximum of 21dba. Four 8mm heatpipes transfer heat from the nickel plated copper base into the fins.
All current CPU sockets are supported, including LGA1366, LGA1156, LGA775 and AM3/AM2+. Price and availability is not yet known.
The HR-02 is the other mammoth, but unlike the Silver Arrow, promises to deliver exceptional performance without relying on fans. The HR-02 makes use of a convex copper base design attached to six 6mm copper heatpipes dissipating heat through 32 aluminum fins. While no fans are included and the cooler is able to run passively, two sets of 120mm or 140mm fan retention clips are included.
The total measurements for the cooler are 110 (L) x 140 (W) x 160 (H) mm, and it tips the scales at 1.1kg. The cooler currently appears to only support all Intel sockets LGA 1366, 1156 and 775, though an AMD bracket may become available at a later time. Price and availability is not yet known.
