nexus-edge-1Nexus has announced the release of a new enclosure, designed for those seeking a quiet alternative to the fan filled behemoths found today. The EDGE is a silent solution which offers style and functionality all in one.

Measuring 64.2 x23.9 x 57.6 cm, it is a full tower, constructed of steel and aluminum so it is relatively lightweight but sturdy. The case supports Flex, Micro, ATX and Full ATX motherboards and includes a CPU cutout in the motherboard tray to allow for easy access to coolers with backplates.

The front panel is from 3mm thick aluminum with three stunning finishes. The right hand side of the front panel has the recognizable aluminum hairline finish and the left hand size has a sand-spray mat finish. And at the edge, where these two different surface treatments come together, has been polished to a mirror finish line. The side panels of the Edge case are fully covered with noise absorption wave foam to absorb noises and sounds from the inside of the case. (Source: Nexus)

There are 18 expansion bays in total (8 x 5.25′ and 10 x 3.5′) all featuring a screw less design system. For cooling, the case has 3 x 140MM fans, spinning at a silent 1000RPM for quiet but effect airflow. One of the key features to the silent design is the padded side panels, which include noise absorption foam to reduce computer vibrations and  noise. The case also has the obligatory top panel extras including e-sata, 2 X USB, audio ports and on/off/reset switches and activity LED’s.

Pricing and availability have not yet been released.

As crazy as it maybe this could very well be my next case, okay I just want to fill this bad boy with a ton of Noctua nf p14′s, drool. Still its a nice case despite the so called “noise absorbtion material” yeah we all know the only thing it absorbs is heat or aids in it.
