As a follow-up to their expensive high end NEX1500 Classified power supply, EVGA is launching three new PSUs at 750W and 650W.
The NEX power supply series from EVGA has been known for its focus on the high end market but lower price points are now being achieved. In order to offer something to gamers who may not be able to afford the massive $450 investment demanded by the NEX1500 Classified, lower wattage versions have been introduced. Starting at just $100, the SuperNOVA NEX 750W and 650W are supposed to compete against heavily entrenched competitors like XFX, Thermaltake, Cooler Master and Corsair.
SuperNOVA NEX750B
EVGA’s entry-level PSU is the NEX750B which uses high quality components like Japanese capacitors and retails for only $100. All of the usual features one would expect of a gamer grade unit have been included: fully sleeved modular cables (in two colors), APFC, an 80Plus Bronze efficiency rating and a silent fan are all present.
The NEX750B is aimed at gamers and enthusiasts who need something more than a basic 500W power supply but can’t justify the investment higher end products demand. However, unlike higher end NEX-series PSUs, it only comes with a 3 year warranty.
SuperNOVA NEX650G & NEX750G
If the NEX750B isn’t enough for you, EVGA will be offering two other NEX-series power supplies: the 650G and 750G at $120 and $140 respectively.
In addition to the NEX750B’s already impressive features, these offer upgraded internal components, an 80Plus Gold certification, a carrying handle and fully modular cable interfaces. Both of these power supplies are covered by EVGA’s 5 year warranty.
