Enermaxgold Enermax Debuts New PSU The Golden Age Is Here

For some companies being good is enough. For others the relentless pursuit of perfection is what drives them to succeed. Enermax shows us the way with their new 80Plus Gold PSU’s.

The power supply market is a very competitive place to ply your trade. Many companies hold long standing reputations and relationships with us, the consumer. It takes a truly revolutionary product for us to take notice; but that day has come, the revolution has begun. With the upcoming release of Enermax’s 450/550/650W lines, the choice is all too clear.

The Enermax will be available in both modular and non modular forms, and has achieved the required 87%+ efficiency standard required to earn its gold stripes. It will also sports Enermax’s new “Magma” fan which hosts a feature coined dynamic hybrid transformer (DHT), the fan has an improved blade and bearing design for longer life and better cooling. It can also be easily removed and the blades seperated for easy cleaning.

There was a time when 80Plus without anything else was a true achievement. It forced a lot of companies to step up and improve on existing inefficient designs. For us, we in turn received cooler and quieter PSU’s that took less from the wall but provided the same as they always had. Enermax has raised the bar again however, 80Plus Gold is a crowing achievement on a solid lineup of products.

A rundown on the Enermax 550W testing can be found here.

Rumour is that the unit will be available in Q3 2009, but no pricing details have been announced
