ASRock sent over these preview pictures of their new line of X79 motherboards. While the company was scant on details, the pictures they enclosed tell a pretty detailed story of what the company will be offering shortly.

    Only 6 RAM slots? WTF?

    Ok the 6 RAM slots on the Extreme7 is the weirdest thing (how the hell does that work if it’s quad channel memory???), but also on the Extreme9, the RAM slot closest to the “EXTREME” heat sink area will not be able to be filled as there is simply not enough room there. The heatsink reaches over the slot. A couple of big design flaws by ASRock that need to be fixed. Reviewers will call them out on these and they will not be happy.
