samsung logo1 300x268 Apple Demands That Samsung Stop TrollingApple has taken offense to Samsung’s commercials that satirize fanboy fundamentalism, according to documents filed in California as part of an ongoing patent lawsuit.

Apple claims that Samsung is “mocking” consumers for considering Apple products distinct.

“While Samsung sells products copying features that make the iPhone distinct, Samsung has simultaneously embarked on an advertising campaign designed to tarnish Apple and mock its consumers for considering Apple’s products distinctive and, for that reason, valuable,” Apple argued.

The lawsuit seeks to ban the sale of Samsung’s new Galaxy Nexus phone in the United States, as Apple claims Samsung infringes on four Apple patents: predictive text; a data-tapper feature; a voice search feature; and the popular using-an-image-to-unlock feature.

One of the advertisements in question can be seen below:

I guess the ads are pretty spot on then.

Cry me a river Apple. They don’t explicitly say Apple. Look at car commercials, they will name each other… Give it a rest Apple. I personally enjoy these commercials :p

Although there are apple buyers who buy apple cause the product itself is in fact good…..alot and i mean ALOT of them buy it just because its apple and its the “it” brand at the moment.

What about those Mac vs PC ads? Did Microsoft file a suit trying to get Apple banned from selling their products then? Apple needs to grow the eff up and learn that they should make legitimately better products than their competition rather than getting them banned from selling their products.

Never in my life will I support Apple.

Really Apple? What about that Chevy Apocalypse commercial during the supebowl where the guy says, “Where’s Dave? Dave didn’t drive the longest lasting most dependable truck on the road. Dave drove a Ford” Now you don’t Ford complaining about this. Suck it up apple.

Hahahaha – Apple can’t take its own medicine… PC vs MAC (my favorite go-to commercial to spoof as an anti-Apple ad) commercials bashed PCs all the time. Obviously Apple is threatened by a superior product that can do all its products can. Only time Apple’s computers “simply work” is if you have all Apple gear… I repeatedly have to fix Apples that won’t work with brand name products that work beautifully with PC… And infringement on voice commands? If that refers to SIRI, it was a freely available app until Apple pulled it off the market and incorporated it into its phone. Good job infringing on “Apple’s” technology… Apple reminds me of the little bully that whines when someone finally stands up to them… Just when I thought I couldn’t hate them more…

I love this Apple is a a company owned and founded by babies and idea stealers yet they say others steal their ideas. lol, then they have pc vs mac commercials and complain about other tarnishing their “rep”. The only “rep” apple has is “we make products for hipsters and kids” Samsung make business people phones. Samsung Galaxy S2X owner and proud.

Funny that they belly ache now but had can their PC vs MAC adds silenced once Win7 came out. Apple knows they can’t compete with Win7′s versatility.

As long as their are computer handicapped users around who want a Tonka style UI to “auto-magically” do their thinking for them like a drone, then go ahead and buy Apple.

I work in IT. half the users come to me tell me they have computer issues, and tell me that they don’t know computers and they show me their hardware which ends up being a MAC. I just laugh and say “figures”.

Yep. I hope it gets tossed out!

    a voice search feature?
DUDE that’s in Android for like FOREVER

A source might be nice, or a link to the lawsuit, seeing as to how you are quoting the company without showing confirmation of their actual comments. Unless we are supposed to take it on good authority HardwareCanucks received that quote from Apple directly?

  • http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=1635060114 Sam Reynolds

No, Hardware Canucks did not receive the quote from Apple directly. Anything in this article, plus much more, can be found on PACER. You can also get some brief background details here. http://dockets.justia.com/docket/california/candce/5:2012cv00630/251113/

  • Bad Apple

Actually, Ford did complain about the ad, they just didn’t file a lawsuit over it (as far as I know). Not that I disagree however, Apple should take this without throwing a tantrum.

I have to admit, Apple is a different beast all together without Jobs. The reason they’ve managed to stay so prominent in the market is because whenever someone tried to say ANYTHING defamatory about Apple as a company, the way they obtained their goods, or the fact that the ONLY difference between apple and PCs are the software that they run would have been sued into the next time space continuum.

Now that Jobs is gone, they’ve lost some of that fear factor that kept them on top for so long.

Now i like my macbook pro because it serves my needs fairly well…. but nonsense like this just makes me wanna throw it out the window sometimes.

  • For2went

Relax Apple.. you all know its true anyway…

  • Yeaman
