d01 Apack Zerotherm Core92 CPU Cooler Small Package, Big Heart

From our first foray into the enthusiast world we are always taught that bigger, is better. But does that always need to be the case? ZeroTherm doesn’t seem to think so. And with it comes their Core92, a small cooler in a market dominated by the titans.

ZeroTherm as many of us have come to know, means eccentric but quite practical designs. From their BFT-90 ‘Butterfly’ to the towering NV-120 ‘Nirvana’ , they have brought forth products that excite the mind, cool the soul and do it all without breaking the bank. Their new Core92 operates on these same principals and as you will see, it does so quite well.

Featuring H.D.T Technology (Heatpipe Direct Touch) and an 92mm LED Fan it is clear that this cooler means to capture the eye while keeping the fires tamed on this latest generation of CPU’s. A key feature and something new in the arena for Zerotherm is the ability to finally change out the included Fan. With many designs on the market these days, the fan has become an integrated part that without serious modding you cannot change or alter. It is nice to see a standard size fan and simple retaining features that allow us to tailor the cooler to our needs.

Using the practical if somewhat older style of push-pin retention the Core92 is simple and straightforward to install. Designed solely for the LGA775 and Core i7′s however leaves it confined to those with Intel systems. Following in its bigger brothers footsteps it has a mirror finished contact surface and low density fin array. Allowing those in the HTPC market the opportunity to change out the fan for a low noise/static pressure version without sacrificing too much performance.

Zerotherm has once again brought us an interesting solution to the never ending demand in CPU cooling applications. With an bold nickel plated surface, and functional design another niche is filled. A small cooler, with a big heart.
