AMD contacted Hardware Canucks today to clarify some details about the availability of its desktop Trinity APU.
AMD claims that desktop Trinity is on schedule.
“AMD is focused on OEM systems as part of our initial rollout of Trinity APUs. We expect to start shipping Trinity APUs into the component channel starting in the second half of this year,” said AMD’s Phil Hughes, in an e-mail to Hardware Canucks. “The emphasis in our Computex press activities was to highlight the strength of our Trinity-based notebook offerings.”
Hardware Canucks last week reported on rumors from multiple sources that all claimed the desktop version of Trinity would be available sometime in the fall, as opposed to the summer when it was apparently originally expected.
