That's a nice rig you're getting there WolfBane. You'll love it. Nice of Cptn V to help you out like that. I'll bet you end up assembling your next rig yourself. You seem very enthusiastic and building these are fun.

So far the OS isntall went great. At stock speeds, CPU idles at 31, Load 44! (the GPU gets WARM though...going to need some pointers on how to manually raise the GPU fan speed, cause right now it is 70's idle, 84 Load.) Also, I did a quick run of 3DMark06 with some Balistix 2GB 800MHZ kit, cause the Gskill isnt in yet. Pulled about 13k. Remeber this is in Vista 64 bit, so the numbers are actually pretty darn good. A quick bump to 400fsb got me 3.6GHZ stable at 1.12V..... Not too shabby at all. Load temps stayed the same! Havent benched yet at 3.6, but will soon. The BIOS is pretty straight forward, and easy to overclock with. It's not as intense as my DFI board, but it is welcome to have such simplicity.

Video card fan speed pointer? Follow this: How to change fan speed for 4800. Worked like a charm.

Well I can't wait to get the rig and finnaly play some good games and also play with the vista ! Never touched vista yet lol As far as those temps !!! Alls i can say is WOW those are some cool temps on that CPU . Now as for the vid card i think there has to be some way to get it cooler????? Those seem smoking hot to me for a vid card !!!! I can't beleive how low that voltage is and ya have it oced to 3.4 gig already !!!! So now what i have to do is learn how to oc for the future and learn how to read all these programs you guys run like (CPU_Z< P95 , TEMPS ) etc etc WHATS THIS MEAN ?(Also, I did a quick run of 3DMark06 with some Balistix 2GB 800MHZ kit, cause the Gskill isnt in yet. Pulled about 13k. Remeber this is in Vista 64 bit, so the numbers are actually pretty darn good)THE 13 K PART ? LOL |

Coolz, I'll try that when I get home from work . Dave, 3DMark 06 is a gaming benchmark. 13k is the score it got. Just as a reference, my highly overclocked machine with 9800GX2 graphics card and 8GB RAM only got about 19k.... 13k is a very good score, but we can get higher when we overclock!!

Iunderstand now so when we over clock and get the vid card cooler and run the 4 gig , 1000 ram we should get a touch better on the 3d score:) How freakn cool is that guys???????? ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() |
