My Vista Premium 64-bit said that too. They are sold to the distributors in 3 packs, you can't just buy a single OEM copy from microsoft.

POST and boot memtest86 from dvd and running, damn good sign!

CPU was 19C in bios, feels cool to touch, but the ram is hot, but I can hold it without using any 4 letters words. less than 50C by my rule of thumb.
Damn fast running memtest compared to my PentiumD with DDR2 here, I'd say 5x.
Man, do I have some wire management to do.

Windows Vista, dunno, I paid for a single OEM $188, 3pks are usually 400ish.

25 minutes and no errors, going to shut it down soon and try some HDD tests.
no over night tests though, not that cocky yet....

Oddly enough, the fan on the Coolit Elite went poof in a little cloud of smoke.
Its shorting the PSU now, once I unplug just the fan, everything is ok,
I can plug in another fan into the MTEC and its ok, its just not a big enough fan to live with.
Of all the stuff that could go wrong, I get a wonky FAN!

better fan and more air flow than what the elite came with???

Those are good fans but very loud at full speed. 45 dba? Ouch.

Turns out it was just the fan cable that got pinched between the case and fan
and finally decided to short after about 5 hours of running.

Vraps RAID0 pretty damn fast!


A few more tests and its off to get those cables under control. oh why did I get all this extra crap anyways.....

I suggest you remove that fan and see whats underneath it.

While not the best coolers on the market , they don't fall into the POS category by a longshot.It even comes with a PWM fan......;
