It's usually rather simple for me to request some. Fill the sample form, sometimes answer a phone call from the local rep, then receive said sample within a few days... Actually I did receive a visit today from our GE rep; I tried to explain roughly what were your plans; I did show him your thread - he think you're nuts. But he also said that it's wonderful how computer builders are pushing the envelope. As for the samples, it's a no-go due to the cost: $220 each 2-part tube (330ml)... and samples cannot be bought. Ok.....I'm getting closer I think. After yakking with the local MG chemicals rep (momentive distributor) I have actually found a 2 part silicone they DO sell in 1 pint sizes. RTV 567 Cost with shipping is over 600$.Not including primer. ![]() Now I'm really not sure if this is the correct material or not.It seems like it'll work , but im unsure of it's mechanical properties/materials compatibility..... From my reading it seems to me the ideal RTV would be RTV 511 but it's not available in the 1 pint size, AFAIK..... ------ 3.0Charlie : I'm curious if there is a "sealant/adhesive expert" where you work that might be willing to answer a couple questions for me. ----- I'm going to look into the dow products in a bit more depth.I'll put up with a -80c limit if it's cheaper.

Those silicones are all part of the same family; they should all work. Yes, we do have a Materials and Processes Expert at work - he's specialised in adhesives too. Unfortunately he's out on Holidays for 3 weeks... but still shoot me a PM with your questions and as soon as he's back, I'll fire away. From the research I did over at Dow, I found that their silicones are good down to -65C.

Cool . Yea the Dow Corning site is the same as the Momentive one.If you don't know exactly what you are looking for , you wont find esoteric stuff....The link you posted about the DC 3-6121 definitly shows an operating temp of -80 c . Now Dow Corning lists themselves as 'Silicone Experts' . I'd bet 5$ right now they have a competing material.I've email'd em again. Thanks again John...PM on the way , after chores.

![]() You probably will find similar products at DC, but I couldn't find any others that were certified for -80C.

I must say, this is above and beyond BrainEater. Thanks again for the waterpump, she works like a charm. Your project is certainly making me itch to come up with something to rival yours. GOOD ON YEA. Live Long and Overclock!

Nope. Anyone know what the 2 pin connector on the back of a Swiftech MCP650 pump does? This project of yours is giving me ideas to rival yours... gah, I just spent enough money already...

I have bad news.If you wanna play in this league , Be prepared to spend cash like it's going outta style.I am just learning this lesson the hard way.Aerospace grade is no joke. ![]() --- Update time. I have my glass : ![]() Yep.....looks like glass....Haw. There is actually a major difference between this and plain old float glass.I could hold a blowtorch to this glass , or dunk it in LN2.That's something regular glass just does'nt do..... ------- I purchased the actual switches for the rack ; ![]() Quick note about these switches. These are actual 'safety switches' , not the crap knockoffs you can get from modding sites. They are rated 3/4 HP 277v/15 amp . ----- I'm about half done on the grinding of the res tank inner. ----- I have painted all the MDF panels seen earlier in this post..... ----- More soon.
