I'm afraid to report that DISASTER has struck my project. Not the destructive disaster thank goodness. Watercooling unit on the machine is that Cat Ass right now. But I got crashing issues. Crashing under DEFAULT SETTINGS!!! *Cries*. OC has been VERY unsuccessful. Highest I got was 2.7ghz and she was plagued with failure. I got one run in with 3Dmark06 and got 14273. Not as high as I had hoped but there is still room to move higher. SO, After much thought and serious consideration of moving to Intel, I said to HELL WITH IT. I need to upgrade a little more. I am not ready to give up on AMD just yet. So this is the game plan. First I'm going to purchase a copy of Windows Vista Home Basic. It's only $109.99 at tigerdirect so what the hell, worth a try. I have loads of reasoning why I want to switch OS. I'm just not going to explain them all. Second. If vista fails to stable up my machine. Say good bye to the Asus M3A32-MVP Deluxe. I have had it laying around for 6 months till I finally used it, so there is a good possibility something happened during that time. PLEASE SUGGEST A CHOICE IN MOTHERBOARDS. MSI, Gigabyte, DFI, Asrock, if you think it's the best for the job oh PLEASE tell me. ![]() Third thing on my list is the possible upgrade to the new Phenom 9950, we shall see with that one. Forth option is more of a last minute decision. since the 4800 series cards came out within moments notice of my purchasing my 3870's... I am itching to move to them... WE SHALL SEE. Live Long and Overclock...

Love the worklog so far! I have an HSPC tech station (air) and couldn't live without it. I considered a home built one, but costwise I found the HSPC to be cheaper and of course much easier to assemble. ![]() NCIX has Vista HP for less, it's always on special these days and I have seen it less than $100 recently. Currently $103, and free shipping with your entire order! http://www.ncix.com/products/index.p...t&promoid=1046 I'd suggest a DFI mobo since your setup is capable of very high clocks. Yet, one of the Asus boards with built-in NB water cooling would also be attractive. I have a DFI Dark P35-T2RS and am very happy with it. Easily clocked one of my E2180's to higher than I've reached with any other board. Very cheap compared to an Asus ROG. Cheap is good, if you encounter HW problems. Plenty of room to mod the board with better cooling. Otherwise, one of their X36 or X48 boards would be sweet. I still have my first DFI, and nF4 Ultra D -- I have a second one too, still new in the box (tested though). I am not a fan of MSI because of a Socket A board I had that would only overclock a couple MHz. Nuff said, I'll never go back. Gigabyte is good, but always seems a notch down in performance compared to other board with the same setup. Their lower end boards are excellent value, hard to beat. Their high end boards are praised as well. I like AssRock too, but not for your build! They are great for basic systems, easy and capable for mild overclocks, cheap and reliable. They also make a number of crossover boards that are sort of unique in the market, can be handy for many of my client upgrades. Looking forward to more progress pics and some benches! . .

Thanks a bunch. My Asus Board is up for sale now. I went out and bought the Gigabyte GA-MA790FX-DS5 board. Results are much nicer. She's still playing hard to get with reaching 3ghz for some reason but I think I can break her. I'll post a pic of the new board on the rig sometime later.
