Just an update on those primochill barbs we were talking about earlier in the thread..... Just gave them a second try on a different loop and experienced the same issues. Seeing as how I've used 3 or 4 different types of 1/2" barbs without a single issue like this I'm gonna call them out as being crap. (Can't say I didn't try to give them a fair shake..... :) ).

Any more updates/pictures on this? I'd love to watercool my 900 eventually and really like the front rad placement idea.

What would you like to see? I've misplaced my charger for my camera, but I can borrow the wife's cam when she gets home. Actually, there's a been a few changes since I updated this last. New mobo, new Blood Red fluid, put a Maze 4 on my 4870 to get rid of the turbine whine . I'll have to take some new pics.I will say after having this up and going for a couple of months that the drain line was a good idea. I've drained the loop 3 times while leak testing, once to change the fluid from clear to red, and once more when I put the Maze 4 in the loop. I'm still waiting for Petra's to get the Red LED Yate Loons back in stock, apparently they got shipped blue instead from overseas.

I'd really like more detail on the rad mount you did. :) The rest is pretty straight forward I think. Thanks!

Well, as long as I was taking 1 picture, I thought I'd update the whole project. Here's how the blood red Fluid XP looks, and you can see where I mounted the pump: ![]() The Maze 4 mounted on the 4870 with Enzotech Ramsinks: ![]() Sorry about the glare from the battery, and yes I put ramsinks on the vrm's too. The whole loop with the new Biostar. I need to cut one more hole to hide the 8-pin cable. ![]() Skyllz, here's what's visible from the front of the machine: ![]() Just realized how dusty my rad is. Anyway, you can just see the end of a bracket at the bottom of the picture. This might give you a better idea of what I did: ![]() Pretend the box with barbs is really a rad. I drilled a hole large enough to screw the bracket to the rad. Top red dot. I then put the rad in place with both brackets on, then marked the holes on each bracket (bottom dot). Drilled a smaller hole and used self-tapping screws to mount the bracket to the mounting cage. The brackets I made are from 1/8" aluminum and are 1" x 2" approximately. I'm sure you could find something at Rona or Cdn Tire, I just had some scrap left from my last fabrication project. So the brackets mount to the barb side of the rad, and the fans mount to the other side blowing air into the case. I still have a rear exhaust fan and the big 200mm fan on top going at lowest speeds. My CPU idle temps are 26-28 degrees, and load temps are 38-40 degrees with the GPU block in the loop. My GPU now idles at 35 degrees, down from 78 with the stock fan setting and 55 with 30% fan speed.
