Default Another DIY Water Cooling Rig

I recently finished a water cooling project, and thought I'd share it with everyone. Nothing special; I did get to hang the radiator out the window on a nice cold day :)

Cool!!! (pun intended... :) ).

Love the 4 banger rad.

So all you're using for a pump is an aquarium pump? (probably costs more to buy new than a WC pump.... :) ).

Would you like one of the mods to edit your post to include the proper link to your blog as it's pretty obvious that you're not trying to sell us ****** or credit cards..... :)

Ya, it's an aquarium pump. The friend I bought it from was an old school overclocker (back when 600 MHz on a Celron was something to boast about), and probably bought the pump about 6 years ago. The radiator + pump were practically given to me, so it wasn't really bad fiscal design.

Thanks for the compliments! One of these days I'll be posting proper benchmarks on that blog, as well as some funny thermal plot screenshots of the inside vs. outside radiator placement I alluded to.

P.S. go nuts with the link, admins, I don't mind at all.

I love the old school water cooling setup.

I don't think that 1hr prime is what I would consider 99% stable though. I'd call that like 50% stable, and I wouldn't use a computer like that for anything that I remotely cared about. If it fails after 20hrs or something, that's 99% stable...

You're quite right; as I write this it's at 3.88 for stability's sake. At 4.0 I observe rather large voltage dips at full load, which makes me believe my power supply is the culprit. I should also consider non-stock northbridge cooling. Believe me, this adventure isn't over, and x% stability isn't stable if x!=100, I know.
