Default GTX480 Fan Recommendations

Hey all, the GTX480 rad is now in stock at NCIX. I'm planning on getting one of these bad boys, and I want to cool my CPU, GPU, and chipset. What fan would you recommend I use for this? I had my eye on the Scythe Slip Stream 800RPM one, then one that produces 7.5dB, and have them set up in a push/pull configuration. My goal here is silence, not much to performance.

Also, is an MCP655 enough for a GTX480, Apogee GT, MCW30, and an MCW60?

MCP655 is enough yes! Those blocks are all very free flowing, the RAD being the most restrictive. Get some of these Scythes, hook em up to a fan controller, and you are in business!

Wow.. Thats some CFM there. But what I want are silent fans, like, right out of the box silent, because I don't want to hook them up to a fan controller.

Buy Zalman ZM-F3 120MM Sleeve Bearing Case Fan Black 900/1800RPM 20/34DBA 3PIN Connector

These are what I am currently running. Awesome price too. They come with a low noise adapter, which drops them to 900RPM.

Wow, those are $10 at NCIX, while they are $5 at TDdirect. PM time!

Since this would be mounted on the outside of the case, would these power them up? I plan to buy two, because there are 8 connectors all together.

Yeah that would work fine. What I did was I actually cut the cables of the fans, and Soldered them all together so 3 fans had 1 power lead. Works great. You could do it for 4 fans. Just power them off the powersupply, and not off the motherboard.

The Zalmans are good. Just make sure they're placed vertically. Also look into Scythe S-Flexs. Don't get Kaze Jyunis, they post an invalid amount of CFM.

Aren't the GTX rads made for medium-high speed fans?

I think you'd be better off looking at Feser/Thermochill if you want to use low speed, quiet fans. You'd probably be fine with a 120.3 from either of those companies.
