Johns got it. I will be using 7/16" tubing on 1/2" barbs, Even TRYING to pull them off and they wont budge....you would need to cut them off....so there is VERY little chance of leaking. Dont worry, I will go over the system with a fine toothed comb....

The easiest way by far i have come across is exactly the way 3.0Charlie mentions.....enough line to be able to bring your res lower than the lowest point of the loop annd outside the box and into a large bowl of some kind.

I also end up changing components alot and therefore it gets drained every 3 months or so because of that.

Having said that a system i put together about 9-10 months ago for someone was displaying higher temps than it used too , i pulled the loop apart , had to strip the cpu/gpu blocks , clean out congealed coolant and other contaminets. I personally think he was topping it up with regular water etc but he swears he was not.....anyways if you have the resources to do it i would change it every 6-8 months or at least flush the system after assembly and use decent additives. It is sometimes surprising to see what comes out of a new rad etc .
