Default Orientation of Apogee GT for dual cores?

I'm still googling, but so far I've yet to find any reference to the best orientation of a Swiftech Apogee GT waterblock with regards to Dual Core C2D processors. Anybody have a link that would point me towards a discussion on this?

I'm running an E8400, so I'm not even sure if the layout of cores on the new chips is the same as the previous C2Ds.

I'm redoing my loop tonight, and might as well set up the waterblock for best performance while I'm at it.

Thanks in advance.

I dont know of any links, but I am pretty sure it will make no noticeable difference. Essentially a vertical mount is better for Quadcores because the way the 2 dies are arranged, but since the dualcore is right smack dab in the center, i dont think there will be any difference. That is my uneducated guess.

I've never seen any definite answer on whether the waterblock orientation matters for dual-cores. You need to make sure the inlet/outlet are lined up properly in relation to the base, but beyond that, it shouldn't matter. The GT doesn't use any sort of impingement, which the usual reason that most waterblocks have an optimized orientation.

Ok, thanks for the answers folks. Since I couldn't add the PA 120.1 to the loop I decided just to leave things as is for now.

I'll be ordering a Fuzion V2 sometime in the near future and will double check on that block when the time comes.
