Gasket for Radiator?

Hi all basically I have bought the Swiftech Mcr-220QP with intergrated Reservoir.

I already Bought 2 Noctua Nf-p12 fans and kinda going back and forth between those and the Scythe Ultra Kaze 2000 but i think ill probbaly go with 2 more Noctua keep with the same ugly color anyways talking to a few people they recommended using Gaskets on the fans apparentely it improves the air flow thru the rad so keepin in mind ihave a Swiftech Mcr-220 qp rad with intergrated reservoir which gasket would yeall recommend?

Basically my goal is quietness but good cooling i cant change any of the parts i already bought and if putting gaskets gives that extra edge why the heck not!

Looking at the radiator itself i think its gonna seal the fan pretty tight by the looks of it so maybe i dont need a gasket ?

Swiftech's fan spacing is only 15mm, which basically puts the fans flush against each other. Other rads such as the Thermochills/Fesers use wider spacing, and incorporate a build-in shroud, the combination of which serves to open up a significant air gap between each fan that air can travel through (without travelling through the fins), so that's where the gaskets are much more important. So if you want to run that rad without a gasket, you can probably get away with it.

If you're feeling fancy, or you're running higher powered fans that might cause vibration, you can grab yourself a roll of foam tape from your local auto/hardware store and line the edges of each fan with the foam before screwing it down. Just make sure the foam doesn't bulge into the blades, or you'll hear it really quickly.

so bascially what i get from what you said is the gasket is not really required my fans do not make noise being the Noctuas i just thought i would need the gasket to get improved air thanx MPG and lol i couldnt sleep i been doing a lot of reading



How do yu guys clean your loop
distilled water only i figure ill clean every part with distilled water before installing it thennn when i have the whole loop in place pour sum distilled water in it and drain it a few times how does that sound ?

I’ve used 3mm weather striping from craptire as a gasket.
I had to cut it down the centre so it wasn’t so wide though.
Don’t know if it really helped, but it made me feel better doing it.
