Default Alternative Water Additives

Well most of us know that there are a vast number of solutions you can add to your water cooling loop.

I use a cocktail mix of distilled water, Water Wetter, and windshield washer fluid with a splash of detergent.

Anyways, thats not what I wish to discuss.
I'm curious about alternative color or UV additives.

Trying to figure out if grocery store food coloring would work? Considering I'm not sure of any pros or cons for using food coloring, so hopefully someone here knows something.

zomfg NO!

You'll get NASTY build-up in your loop. Please buy a real additive like Feser One, Primochill, or D-TEK...

I am assuming you have tried that before?

Well, I've looked into some of those additives. Just seems to me theres gotta be a simpler remedy.

How about something like a sugar free juice powder or something. Just want to see what kinda ideas we can come up with.

I use Feser One Black/Blue stuff. It works well as kinda a really dark purple.... But I like the look, definitely.

I have never heard of anyone using it but I would think analine dye would work. It comes in just about any color you can think of and can be easily blended.

If purple is your thang you could try gentian violet....can be found at any pharmacist. Its an antifungal (old school dog ear cleaner is GV plus 99% rubbing alcohol) be warned it stains worse than octopus INK! Never tried it in a WC as I used to use water but now use Fessor One myself (got to try that Black...looks awesome and the acid green isn't doing it for me) :)

Hmmm, I'll have to visit a drug store and see if one of the pharmacist can recommend. Black is pretty much my goal for color.

Keep in mind that you don't want alcohol or any solvent in your loop. It will degrade the seals.
