Default water cooling

years ago I had a sys that had water cooling sys in in but one of the lines leaked a bit of water and fried the sys I am thinking of converting back to a water cooled sys but don't know much about how to prevent that from happening again trying to decide if it is worth it my sys has some heat related problems now and is not overclocked and if so where to begin the last one was an off the shelf cooling sys.

any help would be appreciated.

it has been so long ago I am not sure but I think it may have been an earlier version of the Thermaltake big water series.
