H100 will do 775. H100i will not however

What kind of temps are you getting at your current clock speeds. I've never overclocked an LGA 775 CPU so I wouldn't know what to expect. If you want to be on the safe side I would go with the H100 but the H80 should also get you that clockspeed if your temps are low enough atm.

Well, with Prime95 blend my CPU gets up to 61c And am sure it would approach Tcase (71c) if left unattended. Maybe I'm just paranoid. :ph34r:

ya but 61c is core temp not your tcase so there some more head room there if your planing on going higher on your overclock then grab a h100 or antec 920 i have owned both and they performance is very close but i like the 920 better cause of the software that comes with the 920.

if your not going any higher then i wouldnt bother if i were you my2cents with 10 years of overclocking every intel chip out there and most of amd's too

Thanks gingerbee. I do plan to take this chip to 4GHz. Maybe 4.2GHz if it will do that. I assume that Tcase is very close to core as they are attached? Tjunction, I think for this CPU is 95c. I haven't come close to that though. Oddly enough, the "CPU Temp" read by PC Probe is lower than my motherboard temp. Probably case ambient. I don't even look at that sensor though. :rofl:

I hope the Antec cooler is better quality than the fan they supplied with the P180b case I bought from them. :blarg:

Edit: Just had a look at the 920. Wow, that is a bit loud don't ya think? Does the H100 do better at lower fan speed?

I would say yes since the H100 is a dual rad cooler. Though I would replace the fans regardless of which cooler you buy. The stock H100/H80 fans produce great pressure but they are sever grade loud. Also as a second opinion Linus did a face off of the H100i VS the H80i and the H100 handily beat the H80i

no there both pretty damn loud but roller said its the fans that they ship with them i didnt care cause i found that with the antec software the cooler runs up when it needs to it never brother me and it was only a few feet away from my bed. but you can always switch out the fans. when it came to noise level i found both to be quite loud at max but through on some silent fans with good pressure and performance is the same if not better and it's quite
