Default Coolit ECO RMA = HORRIBLE Customer service

Hey Guys, I just wanted to tell my story about the horrible customer service I got from Coolit recently. I have a coolit ECO that just failed the drained coolant onto my motherboard, video card, etc. I contacted Coolit and talked to them and they had me take pictures of my system for my RMA request. They asked for serial #s and my invoice from NCIX (I provided everything they asked). They then said that my ECO failed because I installed the radiator upside down (The same way the HWC review shows here CoolIT ECO A.L.C CPU Cooler Review). They also said that the there was dust on my rad and that could also cause it to fail (I clean it ever month).

When I bought the cooler I contact Coolit through there forums (which are now gone) and asked if it was ok to install the rad upside down and they said it was fine. So not only did they give me bad advice but they are declining my RMA based on this.

I won't be recommending their products to anybody anymore based on this.

Dust on a radiator could cause it to fail. WOW. what a cop out comment. Looks like they are looking for any reason to deny their products failure.

I got one of the Coolit ALC's when they first came out at CES, I was using it on my OC beast for the gigabyte team, it kept temps great till it exploded and the heat in our OC system went through the roof some caps exploded all that good stuff. So we sent it away very pissed off at least the Noctua guys during the competition gave us a air cooler so we could stay in. Coolit told us that the ALC was weighed and had more fluid in it then it should when they ship them so it couldnt of leaked :S we even showed them pix of it spraying and dripping coolant and they said they were photo shopped.

About a week into the RMA our head OCer lost it on them and went on a huge rant. from then on we gave/ threw out all our Coolit ALC's and went open loop.

I have to say their customer service team is very condescending and treats you with little to no respect.

Not happy to hear we were not the only people screwed over by Coolit :(

Wow, ok, all of CoolIT's shit is off my buy list. I don't need retards telling me what happened in my computer when I was the guy there, not them.

agree with you there, even though I'm going to buy two new coolers that I have a sneaky feeling will have issues, the new thermaltake water closed loop cooler kits haha. See some at my distributors factory for $25 each should be a fun testing cooler

Somebody else on the NCIX forums claims to have been told it was fine to install upside down as well. He says it happened on those forums so I am waiting to see if he has a link (his pump is failing now as well).

Interestingly enough they used to have a very solid presence on the forum and some top notch customer service from what I recall.

This, is not a good turnaround, perhaps since they divested themselves to OEM with Corsair.

They were never like this, I am going to see if I can dig up my old contact from 2010 and get his take on this.
