Default Anyone looking for help with a water cooling setup, please post here

Hey guys, I'm just extending a hand to anyone who wants to set up a water cooling setup. In this thread you can ask for component advice, how to set up your system inside your case, or just post a really cool water cooling project that you've undertaken (or completed). I'll do my best to answer, as will the rest of the members of our community. I should be able to get some pics of my own setup in here in the next couple days :)

I know nothing about liquid cooling and I have an antec p180 case- Is there a good cooling system that I could house inside my case? I don't necessarily need to cool the ram or 8800gts (I don't think) unless removing the arctic cooler would cause things to warm up in there for my vgu.

Lets see...

It controls all the fans, the lights and the pump.
I hated all the stupid conectors you would have laying around the case so i chooped them all off and wired everything directly into the control panel...it distributs the power out from there. This way i can dim the lights and lower & raise the fan speeds as i need to.

Doh, looks @ case thinking:D

Only thing that makes me leery of that fan controller is this

Maybe it's just me but thats to low. But I have had Tornado's so............
What are the analog gauges on the front for?
I love analog gauges myself, got a CM Musketeer II that has 3 gauges 1 for hdd speed 2 for left/right audio output.

Does it need to be inside the case, or would it be acceptable to have a rad mounted on the back?

Airflow inside the case is an important (often overlooked) part of any water cooling setup. It's no use cooling your cpu down to ambient if your chipset temps end up going through the roof.

I'm certainly not an expert (look at the mangled job I did of mine.... :) ) but I have had a pretty good look around at the different kits available so if you can come up with a price range I can point you towards what I've seen.

I saw a picture of the rear mounted rad today and I'd be happy with that. If I could get good working, durable cooling for under 150, I'd be happy, but I really don't know what to expect to pay.
-Thanks

Thanks- I wonder if those 8800gtx coolers work on the gts.
It would appear that 200 bucks is pretty much the starting point to H2O,

I'm not sure if I'm thinking along the right lines, but I think I would rather have the radiator and pump seperate, so that in a couple of years I can replace the pump w/o replacing the rest of the kit.

I like the look of this kit-- any good?

I dont know much about kits ...but thru my research i found that most people prefer to build there own kits piece by piece and always go with seperate components so that upgrading and replacements arent a hassel.
Thats why i bought the kit that i did....so that i can change things as needed.

Ive seen lots of kits that have the rads mounted in the rear both inside and out ( just reverse the fans if needed)...thats why i put one rad in and one rad out...

Just my 2cents worth
