With my 900 case I have like 6 extra 120mm fans I could use! lol

But I went to NCIX and found these;

Swiftech MCB-120 Radbox Revision 2 Black In Stock 19860 $19.99 $19.99
Swiftech 1/2IN Od Chrome Plated Fittings 1/4 Bspp (Set of Two) In Stock 22451 $5.20 $5.20
Swiftech 7/16IN ID Vinyl Tubing 10 Feet In Stock 19864 $9.79 $9.79
Swiftech APOGEE GT S478/LGA775/S754/S940/S939/AM2 3/8IN & 1/2IN &1/4IN Barbs In Stock 22287 $44.99 $44.99
Swiftech MCP655 12V Industrial Water Cooling Pump 1/2IN Barbs In Stock 19862 $74.99 $74.99
Swiftech MCR220-QP-RES Quiet Power Dual 120MM Water Cooling Radiator & Integrated Reservoir G1/4 In Stock 25909 $57.99 $57.99

TOTAL = $212.95

The total is cheaper, what should I add to complete the set-up? What biocide/coolant etc should I use? I was going to use the coils for the cool blue effect, but It might be easier to add food colouring? I want blue for sure. :) Thanks.

P.S. Do I really need the radbox?? I can place the thing on the top of my new case? It's huge! lol

Check out HWC's sponsored deals (NCIX) here.... http://www.hardwarecanucks.com/forum...html#post46112

You'll save $5 on the pump, and depending on what folks think of Masterkleer tubing (I haven't used it so I can't comment) you can save another $4 on that as well.

You're still missing fans. I'd suggest Yate Loons just for the amazing price on them, but I'm sure others will suggest slightly pricier ones for better performance.

120mm fans correct? I have 6 extra from my 900 case, can't I use them?? What about the biocide and coolant etc, I'm ordering tonight. :)

There's the coolant on sale as well, but I'm not sure if it includes a biocide, and I'm not sure how well it works compared to straight distilled water.

If it were me.... I'd pick up some petra's biocide and the blue dye bomb you listed earlier to go with distilled water.

As far as the fans go.... you can use your current fans, but don't you need them to cool your case? It's important for water cooling rigs to keep case airflow going as you lose the cooling effects of the cpu cooler on motherboard components.

The fans are from my old 900, I'm grabbing the Thermaltake Armor case, so the I can use all the fans from the 900. :)

Have you compared pricing using this.... http://www.ncix.com/products/product...er=1&sku=26522 ?

Throw in a radbox and you've got essentially the same setup with a couple of fans for it. The only difference is the use of a res (X-tra viewing coolness inside the case... :) ) rather than the rad with a built-in res.

Oh, and don't forget to throw in some thermal compound if you don't have some kicking around the house... :)

Wow, that's almost 30 bucks cheaper!! I think I'll go with that and some biocide and dye! What do you think? Is that a good system??

Yeah, you won't have any compaints about this as a first WC cooling system.

Higher end components can be bought (better rad, slightly better water block), but that would start pushing your loop closer to the $400 range for marginal gains (those extra 5c cooling that are important to the true WC enthusiasts... :) ).
