Yeah, I got mine on eBay. The seller doesn't sell 1' strands anymore though, just 5'. Personally I have an 18 gauge, 1' strand and it seems to work well.

I'd think you might want to go for a thicker gauge wire though. More surface area, especially if you have a large loop. Seems like the really fine stuff might be fragile as well, definitely don't want to accidentally snap a piece off in your loop.

Just my thoughts though, don't know for certain since I've never held silver that thin.

As for that second link it's only sterling silver (.925), you need to look for the .999 stuff.

I bought 3 feet of 16 gauge from Twisted Jewels (ebay shop). .999 Fine Silver Wire

I haven't tried it yet. And I can't really be sure it's .999

Everything I bought from e-bay in past year was shameless fake.
It is better to look for a real medical or scientific supplier and make group purchase for a product that has a certificate of quality.
