Low RPM fans on a High FPI radiator

Just bought an MCR320-XP radiator from a member of HWC for a pretty good deal. However, I like keeping my computer quiet. Since the XP radiators have more FPI than a rad like the QP series, would the difference be huge if I stuck with low RPM fans? Yes, the rad is optimized for higher RPM fans, but big would the difference be? Thanks.

The thing is, you need the air to be able to push through the rad. What fans are you using?
If the rad is too dense, and air isnt blowing/being pulled through, your not disipating heat.

So 1500RPM Fans. However.... I like to undervolt these babies... So I don't know. Will these fans at least be fine at 1500RPM?

Hm, I would guess that they would be fine at 1500rpm :)

rpm means squat really with radiators its the static pressure of the fan which makes all the difference.

I have the UV blue version of the gelid fans. They don't work well as radiator fans. My 1450 rpm GT easily out perform them on a radiator. I used them in push pull configuration for looks.

Man, I guess I'll be switching my fans. Not anytime soon
Though as I'm on tight tight budget. I guess they'll be usable at least temporarily. Damn, was looking forward to a green build.

If you can shroud the Gelid Wings, they make for decent rad fans. You need cylindrical shrouds though, or the fan blades will leak too much air.

I heard those gelid fans have greater static pressure than the 1850rpm gentle typhoons (2.66 mmH20 vs 2.06 mmH20) and both give off a noise level of 26 db.

This surprises me as I had always heard that the GT are some of the very very best. Looks like there's an UV green option that still kicks ass for watercooling.

Edit: Could the GT just possibly be directing the airflow in a better-for-watercooling way? I heard that the GT kick the crap outta silverstone airpenetrators too because they have really directed air flow.
