Socket 2011
 

Just ordered some parts for cooling my P55 build but I'm probably going X79 next month. Any news on compatibility with 1366? Is there much more surface area or are they relatively the same size?

From my understanding unless the cooling suppliers have brackets made nothing right now will fit.
Though the surface area should be roughly the same.

Aside from Zalman and Noctua, I don't know of any manufacturers that have aftermarket mounting systems ready for 2011.

Corsair's H80 and H100 coolers have 2011 mounting brackets now.

Maybe I'll luck out and the threads on my XSPC Rasa will match the mounting holes. Otherwise a quick trip to the hardware store will probably solve the problem. That's if the surface area of the block is enough to cover the CPU.

I sent an email off to XSPC for a definitive answer, I'll advise if they respond.

Is there an exact release date of the chips already?
