I know supply and demand and having to pre-order GT stock sucks, but I see the price fluctuate from $18-$22 on a semi-regular basis ;) For me personally, the AP-13's if you're going the GT route are a bit better value but to be quite honest, they seem slightly more finnicky on average when it comes to under-volting. They have a few strange harmonic spikes, but are better in the 900-1,150rpm range than the GT AP15's which definitely have some weird sounds at different points between that range (yeah, I've done a lot of playing around under-volting... lol)

The PL-2's I'm sure are excellent fans as they have the same motor and blade design as these multi-frames. Let's just say for daily use I could only stand the resonant noise etc. from the GT's attached to a radiator at around 600rpm (and that's with 6 of them, when I had 3 on a single triple rad I could tolerate around 800rpm) which puts them fairly low on the airflow charts. You have to know that the GentleTyphoon fan blades are very shallow, and also the fan rotor in the middle is very large, but they also have more fan blades which makes up for it some and helps greatly with static pressure - a bit of a trade off. The NoiseBlockers have both a smaller rotor in the middle, as well as larger and deeper fan blades. Both a win for airflow at lower rpm's. When I crank these up to 1,200rpm you hear a faint motor noise and lots of wind noise. I like these down at ~800 rpm which provides good airflow and very quiet operation. The overall note and tone of the NB's to me, are better after direct comparison in a quiet room at night - very quiet room; so quiet in fact that at 400rpm I could still noticeably pick out the harmonic hum & difference between fans.

Anyhow... straying a little off topic but I think push/pull isn't worth the money and more radiator with good silent fans is always going to be better.

you guys are a wealth of information.
Im hoping maybe I can find a solid 480 somewhere to get that performance flexibility with quality...

Anyone have any oppinions on the XSPC RX480? or the EK XT480?
I'm looking for a thicker rad, that i can use silent fans on. (around 900-1000rpm)

Daz, do you have any plans to carry NB fans?

I don't thin I can manage another German company. Getting products from Germans like pulling teeth with pliers.

Touche.

What would you recommend as the 'sweet spot fan' in performance/price/silence?

From cheap fans I have good experience with Koolance and Yate Loons (which could be the same thing).
Typhoons seem nice, I thinking to try them in my next build. Slow-speed Triebwerks work good for me too, but they are really big and almost impossible to fit anywhere.Old Flexes were nice, but they are discontinued.

I still love and will keep my SanAces, but those are damn loud at any speed.

You can wait till next wave of GT to arrive in Fall and get them cheaper then....
