Default How much woudl you pay for extreme thermal pad?

Hi guys,

I'm researching extreme hightech market for thermal pads, but prices are spooky. For example thermal pad with 14x higher thermal rating then what you get with your GPU waterblocks can cost $40 a piece vs $5 for usual pad.

What you guys think? Crazy?

I definitely wouldn't pay the difference. It isn't as if a better thermalpad is going to make your ram clock all that higher or anything.

It is kinda crazy imo, but I would be willing try one of those in my WC'd lappy. However the pump failed and I have not figured out how I want to set it up again if at all.
For me personally it boils down to if I really need it or not.(or if I am in an excessive mood)

Also, how rip/crumble resistant are they? Because if they turn to shit after the first application then they can bugger right off. Same goes for if they leak everywhere. Not cool.

Don't know if you checked out this site Daz (they're a bit off the map you might say) Chooyu Chemical, Your Thermal Solution Provider! they have a whole lot of pads to choose from...depends on cost, resellers, etc.

I have not seen that one, but they make low-mid range pads. Top pad is "only" 7 Wmk, I looking into double and triple of that number. Still better then standard pads that are under 1Wmk.

I would be willing to pay $40 for a thermal pad if there was some comparative testing (by a reputable person, AKA not the manufacturer) showing that there is an actual difference in real world temps. I mean, if you are spending the money for the water cooling for your GPU, you may as well go all the way.
