Default Corsair Hydro H70 CPU Cooler ?

Hello,

Would like to know if anyone tried the H70 from corsair. Are the fans really loud ? It is good for the price ?

Thanks.

Yes I've used it.

Yes the fans are loud if you let them run at 100% speed but quiet if you mute them to about 50%

I also don't like this unit due to how it mounts.

I am currently using this cooler on my 2600k. At 4.5ghz it keeps the pocessor at 34 idle and 65 while running prime 95. The stock fans are insanely loud, but the included resistors work well to quiet them (currently in use). Without them in place my temps drop by about 4 degrees.

i'll post even if I just confirm what the two previous guys are saying.

It does a nice job of keeping my chip cool ( ~39C gaming, 25C idle) but the stock fans are loud at 100%

Not good then if its that loud. Any other recommandation ? I am looking for a silent way to cooldown the temp of the cpu without spending more than 90$.

Run the fans at half speed and its fine. They don't need to be run at full speed any ways.

I just currently built an i7 2600 system and a i7 2600k system.

Both the H70 and Eco Coolit performed about the same.

The 2600 was clocked to 4.2 and never broke 70 on the H70.
The 2600K was clocked to 4.5 on the Coolit and never broke 70 either.

I'd say the H70 would probably really work well for the 2600K if I was gonna go higher..

And and half speed the H70 cools just the same because it uses two fans not 1.

Review for the CoolIt ECO A.L.C. (dated: February 6th, 2010) CoolIT ECO A.L.C. CPU Liquid Cooler Review | Reviews - Clunk.org.uk this reviewer was very disappointed with the ECO's performance (or lack thereof)
