install waterblocks on xfx hd 6950s

i want to install koolance ar 697 on xfx 6950... so first i am going to test hd 6950 on my old machine (aircooling)...

- clean unistall gtx 285 driver
- install hd 6950
- do clean install ati driver
- furmark it for 30 min (and watch movie at same time)
- un-install hd 6950
- repeat on other hd 6950

if both is passed
- install koolance ar697

correct? i assume it will not fry hd 6950...


btw i am going to unlock it with unlocked shader mod... not hd 6970 bios...

I think you are over thinking things a bit. There is no reason you can't just install the waterblocks from the get go if you have them. Koolance blocks are extremely easy to install since they don't use those silly stand-offs like EK. I don't suggest Furmark, it doesn't seem to like the HD69**. Just use Vantage and Heaven bench to stress test.

good idea, test out the box. 3dmark loop it or whatever floats your boat.

you dont need remorse if it goes blank screen' later :)

Sounds likea pretty safe procedure. I always check if the video card works before installing a waterblock.

I second the koolance blocks. My first and only install of an EK block happened with my gtx 480, was somewhat nerve racking getting that damn thing on properly. But the results were well worth it lol .

Plus 1 for Koolance waterblocks :-) took me 20 minutes to install one on my GTX 580.

alright... just want to do better than nothing...

i tested two hd 6950 with vantage and heaven, and they are passed... they are good... and warm too... tomorrow i will install koolance because i am still working on customize case (from scratch -- will show you guys later)...

i dont pick koolance because what they are... i just picked those block because of cheap, and only available at ncix... (i wish ncix do carry xspc because of slim) and many people said that video card block are almost same preformance...
