Replacement GTZ top?

I've got a Swiftech GTZ with a plastic top, and the threads are starting to get a little stripped on it, which causes some leaks. Right now I'm just putting teflon tape on, which seems to solve the problem, but it's only going to get worse with time.

Does anyone know if/where I could buy a new top for the GTZ? I checked out Dazmode's store, but couldn't find anything there, and same with NCIX.

I would try swiftech directly, but chances are slim, since they are no longer manufacturing the block. They moved on to the XT.

Yeah...I'm doubtful that I'll be able to find one. Might see if I can pick a GTZ up of the BST. That or find another block for cheap.

Yeah, I guess 55 bucks isn't bad at all. Sucks that I just bought the 1156 adapter for the GTZ from Daz a couple of days ago.

Anyways Pax what fittings are you using? The GTZ works best w/ fittings that do not have a recessed o-ring.

Didn't Swiftech sell a solid copper replacement for this? You might be able to find one still...

I was using TFC barbs (one straight, one 45 rotary) from Dazmode. After filling and draining the loop 4 or 5 times due to leaks with the GTZ, I took the o-ring from one of the cheap plastic barbs that came with the swiftech h20-220 I have. I also switched out the the straight barb to a different metal one I had kicking around with a bigger o-ring. The o-rings were a fair bit chunkier and now with those on, it seems to be better.

I should have come back on hwc to check for replies...would have saved me a few headaches, since your little tip was exactly what solved my problems. Thanks :)

And JD, I found some mention of copper (or nickle, can't remember) tops for the GTZ, or GTZ SE, but wasn't able to find the tops for sale anywhere.

My mistake. Those were for the GTX, not the GTZ. Swiftech needs more innovative names

Have you emailed Swiftech? I hear they're pretty good at fixing things. They might be able to send you a new top.
