Cooling questions...

The only problem is that my top fan is to far back in my case, the airflow wont get to the front of the h/s fann :(



and the fan that I could cable tie to the rear grate, where would it exhaust to? the case door is right there.

It would deflect off the door and out the grate ;) Trust me I've setup a machine like you have and it took putting the 2 extra fans I've shown to drop temps.. you could even just have them sit there and watch your case temps.

I dont really need to drop my temps anymore, just the noise level lol. I guess I have to decide if I should spend the $$$ and buy different fans, a northbridge cooler, and a southbridge cooler, or just bite the bullet and get a watercooling setup.

I have water-cooled twice the same setup you have, minus the SLI.



The Swiftech Ultra+ is a very efficient system, and silent. You could also build your own wc setup, choosing your parts - if you do so, you can go for 3/8" tubing. I have tried both and saw no difference.

What version of the hr-o5 series? HR-05IFX or the HR-05SLI? By looking at my motherboard it seems the HR-05IFX is the one I want for the northbridge, but then i'd have to run it horizontal? is that right?

It has to be the SLI version, otherwise it won't fit between both cards.

I have the HR-05 SLI. I am not entirely sure if it can be used without interfering with the CPU heatsink, but it should work. It will take some measuring, but there is always a way to make things fit!

nice, what did you do to solve the southbridge problem? the evga fan?

but my northbridge is beside my cpu heatsink, not inbetween my cards, also there is no room between my cards with my sound card in there :(

For the Northbridge I used a simple Startech round orb chipset fan. I glued it on with Arctic Silver Thermal Adhesive.

the pic is wrong. It is actually low profile, and Blue. Keeps my southbridge below 40 degrees, and even full tilt, the fan is quite silent.
