Default Upgrading from Swiftech H20-220 Apex Ultima+

I bought the watercooling kit mentioned in the title a couple of years ago, and it's been running great for me, but I'm planning on upgrading my computer to an i7/gtx460 setup, and figured I may as well upgrade my wc setup as well.

The kit I bought came with:
Apogee GTZ
MCRES-Micro rev2
MCP655-B pump
MCR220 rad
MCW60 (universal vga cooler)
MCW30 (universal chipset cooler)

I've already swapped out the fittings it came with and the tubing as well. I'm wondering what the weak points of this setup are? I'm assuming a better/thicker rad would help out, and I dont think the mcw60 will work with any newer graphics cards, so I'll probably just take it out of the loop for now so I don't need to drop $120 on a full cover block.

Current setup is in a HAF932 (with a top-mounted rad).

Any input on what I can do to upgrade this (if it's even worth it...I don't think I'm going to spend $100 for a degree or two) would be appreciated.

Any upgrades you do to that kit will only provide incremental performance benefits. What are you running for fans? Those might actually be the best bang-for-buck upgrade if you're looking to spend a little cash.

imho, you are looking for about 5c improvement with latest models CPU block. Your bigger problem is MCR220 which may be noy enough rad for your CPU/GPu combo.

+1 to Daz, I was also going to suggest a different rad, a triple rad you would want, and stay away from Swiftech plz.. Feser, HW Labs and Thermochill make awesome rads.. a Feser 360 is a beast..

Hey! Nothing wrong with Swiftech Rads, they may be a bit denser and sometimes have bent fins, but for the price, they can't be beat.

Lowest price I saw for the MCR320 was $40, nearly half the price of any Feser or HW triple rad.

Also last time I checked, Primochill didn't make rads! Do they? Or maybe you're thinking Thermochill.

Indeed, for the price they are darn cheap, but.. think about it, a Feser rad is twice as thick as a Swiftech, I bet you a Feser dual rad can performance close to a triple, so.. the Feser triple will cool a lot better.

And who said Primochill, I didn't.. Ok I did, I edited my post

EDITL I don't need to be ranting about how much I don't like Swiftech online, it's just sad lol. I'll stick with not liking Swiftech, and if others like them - fine.

Thanks for the input everyone. I'll probably be upgrading the rad and fans. I've got 4 Gelid Wing12's kicking around I can throw in. I'll see if I can find a used rad on the bst soon.
