That's good to hear! I still havent had time to rotate my PSU yet, so I can;t tell if the added airflow will help my high load temps. I will do it tonight, I swear!

Ok, so I changed the orientation of my PSU, so that it exhausts the hot air from the videocard. Just fired the computer up, idles 54. After 20 minutes of Crysis, it was at 100 degrees, didn't go up any higher. Why do they say this is compatible with the GTX??? Sure, it fits, but 100 degrees is scaring me. For reference, the top GTX I have is water cooled, with a MCW60, and it maxes at 54. Well, guess I will just have to get another waterblock!

Excellent results! I think I may slap this on my older 7900GTO in my second machine, see how it does. It can't handle the 8800GTX, so I am installing another swiftech block on my new card today! (in NCIX right now waiting for my tubing....been here for nearly 2 hours....... This is rediculous. The guy is taking his time going through the boxes, that's for sure......)

Default temp2

Again this are some results 70c-71c at 641-1512 shader-998memghz...my maximun safe overclock now on 8800gts.and im chicken....i think mem could go easy...1072...but whats the gain?
running atitools 30mn and gpucap viewer...all open(6 windows)..
I used to run 599-1350-899 at 84c when gaming before the duo orb.
I think its a nice gain
Again its not going at full only 7v...so quiet
its a little loud at full
look at idle 46c

I atually have read that on a couple sites, duoOrb has an upper limit, once crossed it is worse than stock!

Go Accelero S1!!!

Hmmm....wonder what would happen if you strapped a Accellero S1 to a 8800GTX?? Better than DuOrb? I think someone should try.

I just got the duorb for my 8800GTx, my idle temperature is staying at a constant 55 (seeing as how this fan is always at 100%, when the stock cooler on the gtx was at 100% i got 57/58 degrees, so hardly an improvement) and my load is in the high 90's . . i think an earlier poster hit the nail right on the head when he said that the duorb cant handle the GTX temperatures, ive only read about this problem when people are using the GTX.

I even managed to crash this computer for the first time unintentionally when playing crysis, i really was shocked (when i went back and read the log, it was approaching near 100. . . it is ridiculous!). I have very good ventilation in my case (the duorb blows out a stream of hot air that would normally hit the side of the case, i got a fan right there blowing out the side of the case) and i have 2 fans pointing in at the front, and 1 big one pointing out at the back so i highly doubt that this problem is due to poor air flow.

Oh well, i guess i can give the duorb to my buddy who has been complaining about his video cards fan being really noisy (i think its failing, it sounds like hell) for Christmas, and get myself that thermalright HR-03 plus. . . anyone know a good place to get it in toronto or hamilton (i go to university there) that would sell it? I dont mind going through ncix again, but exams are almost over and i am going to go hardcore on gaming during the break, and it would blow chunks if i would have to have to use my 8600GT just because my 8800GTX has a cooling problem.

Yeah, it was I who tested it out on my GTX. Too bad really, as it looked promising. The odd thing is, temps stayed in the 70's when I would play ANYTHING other than Crysis. CoD4, TF2, Bioshock, they all didn't stress the cards as hard as Crysis I guess. Oh well. Now with my watercooling, it doesn't even hit 50 in Crysis! That's on a loop with 2 GTX's and the 680i chipset! Gotta lover watercooling HEH
