Default Just bought 2nd hand pump, how do I remove the reservoir

Hi,

I have just got a second hand Innovatek HPPS pump and it has a small black res attached to the front of it, I was wondering how to remove it if possable?

I can twist the black res off the large disc adapter but tht adaptor stays on the pump and just seams to turn and turn?

Any ideas please anyone?

A picture of your pump would help. I can't really make out a res in the ebay pic

It's black and stuck onto the "front" of the pump where you'd expect to find the intake port. Thus why you see that barb up pretty high and a yellow cap of sorts on the very top.

I believe the adapter is meant to stay. Eheim pumps don't typically have G1/4 threads on them which is what typical barbs for watercooling use.

More pictures would definitely be helpful though.

Hmm, looks like it might be integrated into the reservoir. My guess would be that you need to find the stock "top" for the pump. However maybe somebody with some Eheim experience could chime in.

Any reason why you just don't want to use it as-is? Most people pay extra to have the reservoir attached to the pump, as it makes the loop simpler and ensures that the pump always has fluid.

I feel like a bit of a plonker now, it just needed a bit of extra force to push it off, I was worried I was going to break it. As you can see, just a double 'O' ring gasket holding it in place.

Wierd thing is that it seems to be a 1/2" inlet, 1/8" outlet, I expected 1/4" & 1/8" but that's life I guess lol.

Cheers for helping.
