BUILD:

corasir 800d
i7 920 d0
evga x58 classidied
6gb dominator 888 24
1200w antec quattro

buying 2x gtx 480 hydro ftw's

WC gear:
feel free to suggest otherwise.

Koolance 360 / 350 / HK 3.0?
EK x58 classified full board block
evga gtx 480 hydros x2
fesser one 360 xchanger x2
Innovatek Eheim HPPS pump / swiftech mcp655?
XSPC 5.25 bay resiviour x2 / larger res better? / vertical resivour better?

then some questions..

- i hear sythe ultra fans are the way to go? thoughts?
- whats a top? and should i buy one?
- what would u recommend for fan controllers / temp monitoring / flow meters? necessary?
- wucha think of my concept image? gonna work?

its possible with the purchase of a windowless side panel for the 800d and cutting some exhaust holes in the side. the only thing that concerns me is the exhuast for both rads being so close. do you think they will be fighting for air flow making them less efficent?

is this build better?

New Water Cooling Setup EVGA X58 3way Classified & Corsair Obsidian 800d - Semi Guide

thanks for your time guys.

I would go for a HeatKiller 3.0 or an EK Supreme HF for the CPU block; for the GPU's, I myself would get a normal GTX 480, and wait for the a block from EK to come out. The ones on the Hydros are made by Swiftech. Not a bad block, but when EK, HeatKiller, or the other watercooling companies come out, they will perform much better. The radiators should be great, but I personally would probably do a 120.4 for those GTX cards and keep a 120.3 just for the CPU. For a pump, the MCP655 is good; make sure you get the variable version.

A top, is a piece for the pump. It is a replacement piece that usually allows better flow rates, and more pressure. Not 100% required, but definitely do make a difference.

Im not a fan of bay reservoirs, but that's just me. I don't have any technical reasons why I don't, there just not my thing.

Agreed, if you can you want all of your radiator fans pulling air in rather then out because otherwise your going to using the warmer air in the case

i thought about the 4x120 or even a 3x140 for the gtx 480 loop but im not sure if it would fit id have to messure it all out when i get my case back.

the way the case is designed its ment to exhust out the top intake through the bottom. heat rises so i was thinking keep with the design and turn the rear exhuast into a intake to supply some fresh air as well as add an intake to the 2.5 bays in the base. my only problem with intaking through the rads is that i would have to pressurize the case and pump the heat out the base forcing it down. wouldnt that be ineffective? i could see it makeing alittle difference in loop temps but would it raise the temps of all other componets quite a bit?

does a top have to be matched with a pump?
can it be mounted anywere in the loop?
what kind of temp differences would you see?

thanks guys

Yes, there are specific tops for specific pumps. For the MCP655, you are going to need this: http://ncix.com/products/?sku=34728&...Water%20Blocks

A pump can be anywhere, as long as the reservoir is feeding it directly. Your loop needs to have RES>PUMP> whatever else. It isn't 100% necessary to have the res feed the pump, but almost any watercooler will tell you to do so; including myself.

As for temps, I am not 100% sure if the top will actually improve temps, but it gets your water moving much better.

For dual loop you can consider EK dual top that fits 5,25" bay. Link

Pump top improves performance, but what is more important it makes your life easier with tube routing and general layout.

Dual TFC360 is more then you need already. Consider 38mm fans if you can fit. You need controller if you like to plasy with fans speed to make setup quieter when it is not under the load. I found analog controller is easier to use then any digital.

laing pumps position any but motor top with rotor bottom, so not to make a air trap an starve cermic bearing, and loop>rez >before pump>loop
