Default Significance of the pump?

Some time ago I "upgraded" my pumps from cpx-1's (since I was so impressed by them) to cpx pro's. Not so impressed with the pro's WRT the noise. So I'm thinking of going back to the cpx-1's to get back to some silence.

When I upgraded the pumps I also changed the rad (on that loop) from a '86 Chev. HC to a MCR220 and noticed no appreciable difference in temps. So either the MCR220 is a poor alternative to a HC and the pump is making up the difference or the rads are similar in performance and the pump doesn't matter. Just trying to get some info before I commit to tear my loop apart.

Here's a thread of my build, the most recent pics of my loops are at the end, in case it matters.

I wouldn't blame it on the pump.

Perhaps the Q6600 wasn't pushing the old chevy HC. More or less, the old HC wasn't being strained, therefore swapping it for a MCR220 didn't yield significant performance gain

Another thing is see is that the MCR220 is now placed on top, with fans acting as intakes from the top. I suspect convection is heating up the MCR220 from the components, since there aren't many exhaust fans

don't sound like pump to me it sounds like the rad you pulled was a little better the the mcr220 is all
