Default Where to Put a Heat Censor to Read CPU Temps?

I really had no clue where to put this post but I thought considering I will be using a Water cooling set up it would be best to know where you would put it with a CPU Water Block rather than a Radiator so sorry if this is not the right place.

I have a Fan Controller (KAZE Master Ace) that comes with 4 little heat censor cables, I know where I want to put one of them and that is on the CPU.. But I don't have a clue where to put it to get accurate readings, I know the obvious place would be between the CPU Water Block and the CPU but I am worried that will ruin the connection between the block and the CPU making cooling less efficient.

So where would you guys put it? maybe it doesn't make a difference when it's between the CPU & Block?

Thanks Guys!

Never, ever between cpu and block. Use Real Temp or Core Temp for temp readings.

I would put one inside your line (there are fittings that allow you to do that) and put the rest on your GPU PCB or on your MOSFETs or something. CPU reading is not necessary.

What accurate readings? Accurate are via RealTemp/CoreTemp, via external sensor are just useless.
Put one in case to see ambient temps and one in PSU to see temps (but be careful what you touch inside PSU ).
IMO those sensors are useless nowadays when almost everything have their internal sensors (CPU, GPU, MB, HDD).

There isn't anywhere that you can put the sensor to get accurate readings. I suggest you ditch the temperature probes and just rely on manual speed control. As suggested, use Real Temp to monitor your CPU temperatures, and just adjust the fan speed yourself based on the readings you get from that and your own personal noise preferences.

Great! Thanks guys, I really appreciate all of the quick responses. I guess I will just place them in some of the places Sushi Warrior suggested and use Software to get CPU/GPU Temps like the rest of you suggested lol.

Thanks again everyone!

I have the same temp probe with my 3 Scythe Kaze Server fan controllers and they are REALLY useful. 1 per loop (2 Triple rads, 1 for GPU and the other for CPU), plus one for my case fans.

All on semi-automatic. When idle, fans are turning at really low RPM (computer is almost fanless), and when crunching/benching/gaming), fans all start turning faster at different temps. Really nice. Never have to touch a button anymore.

For the CPU, I've put 2 sensors under my CPU waterblock (not between CPU and block, but on the exposed region of the waterblock), and the temps are really accurate. Same temp RealTemp and my other softwares are giving me.
