HeatKiller 3.0 Mounting?

Read through the instruction on my HeatKiller 3.0 LT (Went LT because I need the black look), and I decided that because I didn't understand the pictures I will google search it.

Turns out, I can not find how to install it, but there are many people saying you need to mount it carefully, or your motherboard wont post. (Due to the metal backplate touching the motherboard). Oh yeah, Im using the backplate just to let you know.

So anyways; How do I go about this? I have my HeatKiller 1156 and the 1156 backplate and have no idea what I am doing. Well, I do, but there are some fine details I just don't get. What is this "200N pressure"?

Can anyone explaine how they mounted theres?

If you use the red spacers, I don't see why it would touch anything on the board.

As you can see, it doesn't touch anything on the board. It does make contact with the stock metal backplate that holds the CPU socket on, but that is perfectly fine. This is 1366 though, but I imagine 1156 is very similar.

Ehh just a Rebel XS w/ kit 18-55mm lens (non-IS). I'm rather impressed with it myself since one hand was holding the board upright and my other hand had the camera.

Ya, use the red spacers that are provided... or don't use the backplate at all. I didn't use the backplate because my mobo tray is horizontal, figured it wasn't really necessary.

To revive this old thread,

How do i install this without the backplate? there's no need for the red washers, is there? (I don't have any anyway).

Any pictures? :D Thanks!

I'd assume you just run the screws through. There shouldn't be anything around the screw holes that a screw head would touch.

Revive again!

Just got Dazmode to pop a HK into my order, along with a backplate (thanks). Googling this heatsink, seems many folks have questions regarding mounting this block.

For HK 3.0 owners:

The '200N' pressure instruction; seems that you can use calipers to measure the distance to get proper pressure (19.6mm). Did you use calipers or just tightened by hand and judged that way? If you measured, where exactly did you measure it from?
