My System Specs

Default HWLabs SR1-360 vs Feser

I can't really decide between the SR1 and Feser 360 radiators. I assume either will suffice for my i7 920 @ 4.2/4.4GHz along with a "next-gen" graphics card. Whatever ATI's next card may be, or the Fermi/GF100. However I'm curious if either will perform noticeably better.

I doubt my MCR220 will cut it, which is why I'm looking to upgrade.

I'll be pairing it up with Gentle Typhoons @ 1450RPM.

You might want faster fans for what you're trying to it use for...

I hate noise though...and ~1500RPM is already fairly audible.

And don't those Gentle Typhoons have pretty good pressure? At least that's what I've read on XS.

I own the Feser and it is one of the best 360's around and I do believe its a little better than the SR1.

To put it another way; I would buy it again if I was to buy new.....you need some decent fans though as the fins are pretty tightly packed.

Then consider 38mm or larger fans. The i7 runs quite hot. I have no problem with my HAF set up with 6 water blocks in the loop (see sig) @ 1300 rpm x6 fans , but I don't overclock. MCR220 could not handle even single i7 for me and was removed swiftly.

Delta's & Pana's are expensive......these may be perfect for you.

Scythe Ultra Kaze 120MM High Static Pressure Silent Fan 38MM 2000RPM 87.6CFM 32.9DBA - DirectCanada

Me, on the other hand...would much prefer these:

Well the SR1 seems geared for low-speed fans, so I'm guessing that's more in line with what I want. My other choice was the XSPC RX360, but those seem a little harder to get. Least the SR1/Feser can be had in Canada.

And I'll agree, my MCR220 isn't holding up too well with my i7 920 right now. Gets close to 80C at times. I'm hoping a dual-pass 360 radiator will suffice with a GPU added as well. I'm not looking for the best temperatures, just within a decent range.

I still have a ton of voltage tweaking to do with my i7 anyhow. Trying for 4.2GHz now (210x20) without Turbo but with HT.

As for 38mm fans, there aren't really any quiet ones. I know there's 1000RPM Ultra Kazes, but those apparently make a ticking noise or something.

I have 3000rpm San Aces that slowed down to 1500 rpm and they are pretty good at noise level. Triebwerk pretty good too, but I couldn't fit them.

Triebwerks are too damn expensive. I know I own some Noctua's which were like $15 a fan, but ~$30 a fan is a bit insane.

And I know San Aces are good, but aren't they rather hard to find?
