ThermoChill Rads - Why so cheap?

Hey guys,

I'm looking at finally putting one of my systems in a case.
Any ideas why the ThermoChill 15mm fan spacing rads are SO CHEAP?

$87.66 for a PA120.3

Thermochill PA120.3 Triple 120MM Fan Water Cooling Radiator with 15MM Spacing *No Barbs* - DirectCanada

I paid about $130+ship for my original 25mm spacing way back when!

Main reason for looking at new rads is that I'm thinking of tossing everything in an Obsidian -- I wish it had space to mount two rads without modding... a 120.2 and 120.3 would be perfect in this thing.

Well, they were bought by XSPC, so maybe their pricing structure has changed.

I've heard they are not ROHS compliant, which is extra cost. Too much lead in copper or something like that.

That would be a recent change, as the original Thermochills were. Kind of necessary, what with them being manufactured in the UK.

But yeah, I'm willing to bet that XSPC is responsible somehow. Whether it's just economies of scale, better distribution efficiency, or a new manufacturing process/location, who knows.

From what I remember reading, they were going to be keeping the same manufacturer. Don't remember on who's site though...

And other than the fan spacing, there were to be no other changes.

Ahh frak. I just pulled the trigger on a new 15mm spacing 120.3 and Obsidian. :\
