Good review again!
I own that HSF and like it a lot. It's really good for the price!

BTW SSWilson, just noticed your avatar/profile and you're an AIR type! (AVN my guess).I'm a CHIMO myself in an Air environment...Cheers!

I have a few of them and keep one spare on the bench for quickly throwing on any 775 board i need to work on since it is so quick and easy to mount.

It will even handle my oc'ed quads to the 3 ghz range and keep temps stable folding 724.

A great little hsf

I'm in Bagville myself, part of CE. I guess the CMangler wanted to give me a hard time (I'm franco, but was willing to go your way or Ontario/Manitoba) ,last post was GagTown.

Now SSWilson, what do you think of the bottom 3 curved HSF fins on the Freezer anyway? Seems to be a good thing to cool off the VRMs, but is it effective? I mean sounds nice but, is it a gimmick or there is a real, noticeable improvement in that area? My Freezer 7 is spinning full blast at all times, all energy saving and RPM controls turned off...

I have mine running full tilt as well, doesn't everybody??? :)

As far as the curved fins go.... I don't think it's just a gimic, but how much it helps is questionable. At the very least it doesn't block airflow to that area of the motherboard like some big block coolers look like they could.

I also think this probably would have a larger affect on more budget priced motherboards than it does on recent mainstream ones.... I've noticed that the last few boards I've bought have all had much beefier looking VRM CCT which (if my experience with the two different versions of sapphire 1950pro vid cards is any indication) seem much better suited to deal with the heat thrown off by high power components.

Would be cool to see a comparation between this and the Sunbeam Tourn and/or Thermalright 120

We'll see what we can do.......

Can't promise those two particular ones, but expect a few more air coolers on the same test bed for comparison........
