Sounds like he wants ones with integrated dust filters.

TBH, not a lot of those around. Are these external fans or internal that you could wedge some dust-cover material between the fan and the mount?

There are some mesh ones over in the modding section of NCIX or Direct Canada.

I kinda missed that part.
Like SS says you can use these and put some kind of dust material in between.

This is probably what you're looking for, only you probably want it in 120mm rather than 80.....

So what do grills do exactly? That is what I'm after.

I've heard of people using dryer sheets, probably already used.... bonus is that clean smell!

Grills just stop your fingers and maybe cables from going in the fans...

They were a lot more common when you only really had 80mm fans, and they spun faster to get more CFM. I cut myself on a 8000RPM delta before, and it got me 3 times before I was able to pull away.

It got a fan grill...

Standard wire grills keep your fingers intact if you're apt to go poking around moving objects without looking before you poke.... :)

The fine wire mesh ones will work as dust filters up to a point, but will not keep all dust out.

Nope... the cheezy plastic ones I linked to (don't seem to be any 120mm ones available at any of the big online stores) have a washable plastic "fibre mesh" insert which is actually pretty effective at catching dust, yet allows airflow to continue through. That's the key.... you want to catch the dust, but you don't want to impede airflow too much.
