Default CPU block for LGA1156?

I can't seem to find any on NCIX. Or do the LGA1366 ones generally fit on a LGA1156 board?

Can you generally remove the barb fittings from CPU/GPU blocks? I was gonna take those out and use compression fittings.

Thanks

Not sure if 1156/1366 are the same mounts but I doubt it.

However I do remember reading about a P55 1156 motherboard which had 755 mounts as well, cant remember the brand i think maybe Gigabyte. It was one of what seems like hundreds of motherboard previews i went thru in the past few months lol If you grab one of those you could just use a 775 waterblock. Otherwise i think your gonna have to wait for mounting adapters to filter thru the retail channels.

As Akai mentioned sone P55 mobos do have holes for LGA775 cooler/mounting compatibility.. Saw them in some mobo previews, I wish I could remember which ones..

that sounds about right... its a nice touch if you ask me for capturing those looking to upgrade so they dont have to replace their current blocks/heatsinks

The Danger Den LGA775 universal hold down fits on 1156. I was using one when I was working on my overclocking guide.

It was the steel version of the hold down. We don't carry it anymore though...

Will most 775 brackets fit a 1156 socket?

No, the 775 holes are just slightly 'out' more then the 1156. By like 1/2 cm. Dumb move by intel. No reason they couldnt have made the hole spacing the same.I have to wonder if intel got bought off by one/all of the aftermarket cooler companies
