Is there a program that will record temps as time progresses?

Hey I blame you for getting them in stock and lightening my wallet. But, for once I can happily say I was glad I made an upgrade.

just use real temp it will read the max. even if it's only for 1 second that the temp goes that high ( i.e you will see what it tops out at peak )

in 775 and 1366 flavors. Damn I even still have my GTX. Time for another long post

You have the orientation wrong on the GTZ mount, instructions say its important and will effect temps.

Don't know how much of a difference it will make, but there must be a reason for them specifying this.

It has to do with aligning the impingement pattern of the block with how the cores in the i7 CPU are arranged. While I can believe it makes a difference, I'd honestly be surprised if it amounted to more than a degree or two, not nearly the difference that his testing gave him.

Yeah, Everest has HTML logging and you can set the intervals I believe. Before I hag a G15 to output my temps I used to turn logging on and log my GPU diode temps and Core temps and see what they peaked at. It'll give you peak, minimum, average etc as well as temps every 5 seconds.

Damn that is one sweet looking block, and it appears to offer both performance and beauty.

Not sure I can justify spending $100+ for S775 (or my new AM3), but it definately looks like a winner for the hotter i7 platform.

Realtemp will record temps in a .csv file, in whatever directory the realtemp files are, and that file can be pulled up with Excel easily. You'll want to erase the old .csv file first, though, as Realtemp just keeps on adding to it, until you grab the file and move it elsewhere.

You make a valid point and I didn't catch the mistake until you pointed it out. I had it properly arranged when I had my Quad core, but I mounted it incorrectly in my haste to get my new i7 Core up and running. Although mind you, those recommendations were for the Quad since it was a 2 chip chip design. With i7 Core, it is back to a one chip design which probably wont affect the GTZ as much. It's the inlet that is the most important factor. Good observation, and it almost makes me want to reinstall the GTZ to retest. Just not as easy as it is air cooling to set it all up again, but I'm not here to b.s. anyone.

MPG, thanks for the info on the .csv file for real temp. I may use it for my updated tests.
