My System Specs

I have one of those Koolance 1200w mineral oil submerged PSU's.... basically its an 850w that doesnt overheat at 1200w cuz its submerged. Its an older one doesnt even have more then 1 pci-e cable.... and its low on fluid so I took it out of service, wondering what to top it off with, not 100% sure its mineral oil but sure looks like it. Would be handy to run a bunch of folding gx2's with cable adapters and a small psu for the system. (stop thinking folding, geeze)

Have an A-1 day!

instead of topping it up(especially if you don't know whats in it) just buy more mineral oil. I think you can get it at petroleum places. if not, ask a vet for horse laxative...nah jus kidding. altho a petroleum store should have some. think you have to buy it in a 5 gallon bucket tho.... altho there are alternatives. you can use the cheaper method and use canola oil, altho you have to watch that. if it gets too hot, your PSU will turn into a deep fryer, and it could mold. I have heard that baby oil also works. and if you want to be dareing (highly not reccomended) distilled water will work. but only distilled water. thats only because it has no impurities.

But what you want is to get your hands on mineral oil. that is the best, safest, most reliable submersable liquid you can get.

:edit:Oh yeh, and you can buyit from drug stores.
