My System Specs

Default Motherboard Waterblock Compatibility Issues

I'm looking to purchase this Chipset cooler (Swiftech MCW30):
NCIX.com - Buy Swiftech MCW30 Chipset Waterblock for Most AMD & Intel Motherboards 1/2IN &3/8IN Barbs - MCW30 In Canada.

I currently have this board (Asus P6T):
NCIX.com - Buy ASUS P6T X58 ATX LGA1366 DDR3 3PCI-E16 PCI-E1 2PCI CrossFire SLI SATA2 GBLAN Motherboard - P6T In Canada.

The problem is with the mounting:

At the bottom left mounting screw, there's a phat VRM and a capacitor. Also, the PCI-e lane is very close to the Northbrige cooler. Those components make me unsure of whether mounting the waterblock will be a problem, since the mounting mechanism on the waterblock is a curved do-hickie thing.

Any information on whether or not these parts are compatible with each other will be greatly appreciated.

Note: I've emailed Swiftech about compatibility and they said they don't know.

I wouldn't expect the MCW60 to fit that board, as you're saying, there's definitely a clearance issue. There's THIS block, which is supposed to be for the board, but doesn't look like it would work unless it was a mirror-image of itself. Not sure what to think about that.

Regardless, you'd still have to do something for the voltage regulator section, since you'd be tearing up a heatpipe in the process.
